Uru Mānuka Kāhui Ako

Inspiring futures ...

Eight schools in Hornby and the surrounding areas have been working together since 2009, and in 2018 we became a Kāhui Ako, an official group of schools that gains extra resourcing to support our work with children from across the area.

As a group of schools we work together to build and maintain coherent pathways for our learners, your children, as they progress through their years of compulsory education, and into NCEA.

The schools in Uru Mānuka  are:

Yaldhurst Primary
Templeton Primary
Gilberthorpe Primary
St Bernadette's Primary
Hornby Primary
Hornby High
South Hornby Primary
Wigram Primary

Achievement challenges:
1. Student wellbeing (we want all students to thrive)
2. Cultural identity (we want all students to feel comfortable in their own culture, and we want teacher and school practice to support that)
3. Digital Fluency (we want all students to have the skills and dispositions to be able to thrive as digital citizens).
